Father and Son
Paul Zimmermann (born January 26th, 1939 in Pliezhausen, Germany) is a German artist blacksmith and metal designer with numerous contemporary works. He is considered one of the first German blacksmith for innovative and contemporary forms in traditional blacksmithing. Zimmermann wears the British title AWCD as the first none native British born blacksmith.
Heiner Zimmermann (born July 25th, 1969 in Pliezhausen, Germany) is an ambassador of his craft. Growing up in his father’s forge, he soon learned and appreciated ancient techniques and traditions with hammer and anvil. Since 2009 he teaches students at the Swedish university HDK in Gothenburg as a Professor for Arts and Craft in the field of metal art.
